Where can I use propane?

Propane can be used as fuel for Furnaces and Boilers; Water Heaters; Stoves, Ovens and Grills; Clothes Dryers; Fireplace Inserts; Generators; and even Space Heaters. For example, if you add on a new room, you might want to choose a propane space heater, which doesn’t need to be integrated into your central heating system. Since the heater can be controlled separately, when you’re not using the room, you can simply turn it off and save on heating costs.

Where should I place the tank?

A propane tank can be set either above or below ground, and can be placed far away from the appliance it serves. This gives you the option to place the tank in the location of your choice – out of sight, if you wish.  We’ll be happy to inspect your property with you and help you find the best location for your tank.

The cleanest propane on the market.

There are three grades of propane available in the U.S.: a propane/butane mix, a low-grade propane for commercial applications, and HD-5, the highest grade with the least impurities. Bantam Fuel delivers only HD-5.

What’s that smell?

Natural propane is colorless and odorless. For safety reasons, propane is required to be odorized to indicate the presence of the gas in air. A foul-smelling odorant, ethyl mercaptan, is added to propane to give it a distinctive, unpleasant smell. We’ll be happy to discuss whether propane heating is your best option.
