High Efficiency Boilers

Welcome to the energy savings revolution!

Thirty years ago the average heating oil consumer used approximately 1,200 gallons per year.  With the latest high-efficiency heating equipment that same consumer uses 700 gallons today:  That's 41% less!

Propane equipment has made similar strides in fuel savings.  Between Heating Oil and Propane, you can heat your home, make hot water, cook and dry clothes more efficiently than any other energy source.  Not to mention pool heating, generators, fireplace products, and more.

It's easier than ever to join the revolution, with serious Rebates and Tax Credits available for energy upgrades, along with easy Financing Options. Click on a category below to see how you can be more comfortable while saving fuel and money.

High Efficiency Boilers

The energy savings revolution started in Europe, with the German and Italian manufacturers designing very small, quiet, high-efficiency boilers that could heat large homes for less money.  Then the American manufacturers joined the revolution with their own new designs that were made in America with readily available parts and technical service.

These new boilers are tiny compared to the bruisers we installed in our homes in the 1960's, and they can be as small as half the size of the boilers installed in the 1980's.

More importantly, these new boilers employ "smart" technology to save fuel every day of the year.  Where your old boiler keeps hot water on standby all year round, the new boilers only heat up when you need them.  And they don't send scalding water through the radiators every time the thermostat clicks on:  They only send warm water if that's all you need, and they send hot water only on the coldest days of the year.  That's why we call it "smart" technology.

The German names include Viessmann and Buderus.  The Italian names include Biasi, Pensotti, and Riello (who make high efficiency oil burners).  And the list of American contenders has grown to include Weil Mclain, Crown, Burnham, Utica, H.B. Smith, Energy Kinetics, and the list goes on. Contact us to ask a question about the new high-efficiency boilers.

How much money can you save?

At a customer's house in Washington we recently replaced an old boiler with a Weil Mclain (American) unit, and he saved $4,500 in the first year.  The savings depend on the size of the house, the price of fuel, and the age of the old boiler. Should you heat with Oil or Propane?

In a new system, they're both versatile, efficient fuels with impeccably "green" credentials (especially when the Heating Oil is Bantam BioHeat), and they have different advantages.  Heating Oil remains the least expensive heating fuel in the State of Connecticut, and with basement tanks the whole system is neatly out of sight.  Propane is more affordable than ever, and you can use it for heating, hot water, cooking, clothes drying, pool heaters, generators, and fireplace logs.  If you're not sure which fuel is right for your home, contact us and we'll talk through the details and help you come to the best decision.

Money Back!

New heating systems can qualify for sizeable rebates and tax credits, and they can be exempt from Connecticut sales tax.
