Bantam Fuel provides the same prompt, expert service for Air Conditioning systems as we do for oil and propane systems. Whether you need a Spring Startup, an emergency repair or a new, high-efficiency system installed in an old house, we can do it for you.
Most systems don’t require a Spring Startup, but many customers like to have it done. We can do it any time that the temperature is over 70 degrees F. The typical Spring Startup includes: cleaning the condensing unit, checking/changing the air filters, inspecting the evaporative coil, checking for proper refrigerant levels and checking for proper cycling.
We install new Air Conditioning systems in existing homes and we work on all facets of existing systems. The minimum SEER rating (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating) for new equipment is 13 SEER and this may be a good time to consider upgrading your old system to a high efficiency one. For each point of SEER, you save 10% in electricity costs from the previous point. So going from a 10 SEER system to a 13 SEER system would generate an electricity savings of 27%.
It isn’t enough to simply cool the house, because the main purpose of air conditioning is comfort. If the house cools too quickly (because the system is oversized), it can be cold and clammy in the house. It’s better to have a cool house that is adequately dehumidified. If you want to get the most out of your air conditioning system, call Bantam Fuel.
